Installation For Nokia 6120, 6160, 6185, 6190, and All 6110/ 6120/ 6120i/ 6130/ 6150/ 6160/ 6160i/ 6160m/ 6161/ 6161i/ 6162/ 6162i/ 6162m/ 6185/ 6190/ 6210/ 6250

bulletRequired Tool: Number (6) Torx Wrench

 

bulletRemove battery and (4) torx head screws.

bulletBegin to pull until the phone separate into two sections toward the top (antenna area).
bulletThe phone is held together by two latches (release latches..., you will not break).
bulletThe power on/off button and earpiece will either stay in face plate or attached to green circuit board.
bulletPlace on/off button along with earpiece in your new face plate.

bulletInstall the keypad in the new face plate.
bulletReplacing Keypad-- Install new keypad in face plate. Remove white/silver filament from original keypad and place onto new keypad.

bulletYou may choose to use your original Nokia Keypad or use the new keypad that comes with the new face plate.
bulletInstall the rear section of phone (circuit board section) onto face plate from top enabling latches to attach.
bulletSqueeze face plate and rear housing and check to make sure the phone is properly attached.

bulletInstall the (4) torx head screws and tighten phone.
bulletHint: You could install battery to test keypad and earpiece audio operation before installing screws. You will need to squeeze phone to compensate for screws not being installed (Symptom: Phone will not power on).
bulletNote: You may notice a slight hairline crack near your antenna. It's a common problem with Nokia 5100/6110/ 6120/ 6120i/ 6130/ 6150/ 6160/ 6160i/ 6160m/ 6161/ 6161i/ 6162/ 6162i/ 6162m/ 6185/ 6190/ 6210/ 6250 phones.
bulletJob Done -- Test your Unit
Problems & Answers Problem: No earpiece Audio. Check the earpiece position.
Resolution:  Rotate earpiece inside the power on/off button or utilize on/off button received with face plate.

Problem: No keypad operation.
You did not remove white/silver filament from original keypad or install improperly.
